Do You Own an Underground Storage Tank?

If you own a petroleum underground tank installed before 1984, you have less than two years to either upgrade, replace, or remove your tank(s). According to federal and state regulations, December 22, 1998 is the deadline. Those who miss the 1998 deadline may find their insurance carriers canceling coverage. In addition, owners out of compliance with current tank laws jeopardize any claim to the state's UST cleanup fund for financial assistance in cleaning up petroleum leaks.
