Most difficult project was the fire sprinkler retrofit of a 30 story high rise building full of friable asbestos, maintaining full occupancy without disturbing the tenants, maintaining safe conditions, and completing the project in 1 year from design to completion. I established and managed engineering offices and an asbestos laboratory within the building. The operation was manned 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The goals were met. |

owner and President of Structnet, a construction consulting company.
Consultant to the California Wall & Ceiling Contractors Association, now WWCCA, an all Union Drywall and Plastering contractors association. I designed, established and operated a system for union contractors to be able to compete with the open shop contractors in the Southern California area from 1991 until the Northridge Earthquake January 17, 1994. This operation was very successful during this period and goals were exceeded. The operation was disbanded soon after due to lack of need. I was appointed a co-chair of the construction task force for Rebuild LA, after the April 29, 1992 riots in Los Angeles. I operated this position for three years establishing operating relationships between 10 large contractors and 10 small local contractors in the effected area in an attempt to improve the skills of the contractors in the local community and to rebuild the area in general after the riots. Several of the goals were met, many were not. |
